We are a bunch of college-aged crazies who love to dress up like our favorite anime, manga, sci-fi and fantasy characters. We're glad that you managed to stumble upon our humble abode, and we hope that you enjoy looking through our costumes and photo galleries ^^.

It's that time of year again!! Con season is upon us, and it's time for website updates xD! I added a bunch of new costumes that we've made over the past year to the cosplayer pages, and put some new placeholders in the masquerade section (um, yeah, I'm kinda behind on that... @__@;). Hopefully I'll be adding those videos soon, too ^__^!
One of the videos I'm hoping to add soon is the performance I did with my sister, Miaka, in the World Cosplay Summit preliminary round. We pumped out our Clover costumes in two weeks in order to make the tryouts (Hello, trip to japan? Totally worth the chance!!), and we managed to snag second place! As cheesy as it sounds, participating in the WCS is one of my dreams, and I'm so thankful that my sister-chan was as excited about it as I was! She choreographed our skit, and I'm excited to show you guys because I think she did an awesome job <3! On a similar note, congrats to Rynn and Sumikins for the win! They're gonna do an amazing job representing the USA... and to the folks at the WCS, expect to see us back trying out again next year ^__~!
As far as upcoming events go... Underground Cosplay will be returning to the Anime Expo Masquerade this year, the first time in four years... whew! We're keeping our skit on the down-low for now, but we're very excited about it, and we don't think you'll be disappointed ;D!!
All right, time to go make some costumes... it's crunch time, people! See you all at AX! :D

Hey all, it's been a while! Well, convention season is getting underway, so I thought I'd drop in to do a generic "we're not dead!!" update ;D. We just received official confirmation of our spot in this year's Comic-Con Masquerade, so it's time for us to bust out our dusty sewing machines and get to skit practice again!
Our entry this year is going to feature the cast of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog, Joss Whedon's online musical sensation... and of course we will be adding our own Underground-style twist! I know we're going to have a blast performing it, and hope you all will enjoy it too.
The Undergrounders will also be present at Anime Expo (not in the masquerade, but in the artist's alley and just out and about), so please say hi if you see any of us there!
To all of you cosplayers, best of luck in your preparations for con season, and see you all at the big show <3!

Next years Comic-con Masquerade plans are already in the works for the Undergrounders, and the hair-ripping, ulcer-enducing stress is about to begin again! There was no better time for me to receive in the mail a reminder of why we put ourselves through all the torture hard work; Comic-Con's quarterly magazine featuring our costumes! When it comes down to it, knowing that we were able to impress the judges and entertain the audience really made all the blood, sweat, and tears worthwhile <3.
So here's to next year's Comic-Con Masquerade; every year we are so impressed by the high levels of performance and craftsmanship exhibited by the participants, and it is just so awesome to get to be a part of it. And bestest of luck to all of you planning to compete next year ~ can't wait to see you there :D!

Con season is almost over and updates are slowing down around here ... but I thought I'd drop in to give a shout out to all those WoW-heads that are attending Blizzcon this weekend in Anaheim, CA! Firien and I will be there showing our guild pride by wearing our tabards; Firien is the guild leader of The Underground on Dragonblight, and all the Undergrounders and our friends raid together and stuff.
Though the majority of people there will be gamers, I wanted to mention that we'd be there in case we happen to run into anyone from the cosplay crowd :D!! I'm terribly excited to check out the costume contest... and maybe next time we'll try competing >:3!
LOK'TAR! FOR THE HORDE!

Last weekend the Undergrounders had an Eternal Sonata photoshoot with one of my good friends from work, isayx3. He's a very talented photographer so we were happy that he was willing to use us as subjects :D! We took the shots in a golden field just behind the studio I work at; it was around sunset, but with all the fancy lighting he brought out we were able to keep shooting well after dark, which lent itself to some very dramatic photo opportunities (EPIC OMG XDDD)!
Here's one of the shots he took of our whole group :3
He's still working on processing the photos, but a bunch of them have already by uploaded to his flickr account... so please go take a peek at the ones he's posted so far (and look at the rest of his work while you're there, it's truly impressive :D)! On top of that, one of isayx3's photos also got featured as a showcase image on cosplay.com, which is totally awesome!! Muchos congrats to him :D!!
Our most sincere thanks go to isayx3 for the fabulous photos; I knew that all we had to do was show up and he would make us look epic xD!

The Undergrounders just got home from Comic-con, and MAN are we wiped out ^^;;. After a week of virtually non-stop sewing/prop-making/foamie-painting, we jaunted off to Comic-con to participate in their legendary masquerade competition, and we were not disappointed! The caliber of costumers there was amazing as usual, and we thrilled to be a part of it for a second time.
Cosplaying as characters from the amaaaazingly gorgeous Xbox 360 game Eternal Sonata, Underground Cosplay presented a skit that was a little different than our usual antics; an "epic walk-on" if you will xD! I will post an entire page dedicated to this skit once we get some more pictures (wee!), but until then please check it out on our youtube channel : Underground Cosplay presents "Eternal Sonata"
Muchos thanks to the Comic-con Masquerade staff for putting on yet another wonderful show, and congrats to all the contestants this year! It was truly a fierce competition, and that's why we love Comic-con soooo much xD! You all rock <3!! We'd also like to thank the Comic-Con Masquerade judges, AgentSakur9, and Xbox for recognizing us -- it was truly an honor <3.
Until next time! :D

We just got back from our whirlwind trip to Anime Expo! We only were there a couple of days, but in that short time our cosplayers debuted 4 new costumes! I've posted new costume icons on the following cosplayers pages:
> Amaryllis as Sister Kate from Chrono Crusade
> Miaka as Polka from Eternal Sonata
> Chichiriko as March from Eternal Sonata
> Pipsi as Black Sakura Wa-Lolita, an original design
AX '08 was here and gone already... so I guess that means next up is Comic-Con!! Underground Cosplay will present their Eternal Sonata costumes in an "Epic Walk-on" in the Masquerade on Saturday, July 26th. Please wish us luck especially with getting our costumes done in time omgggggg =D!!
Oh! And I also wanted to draw attention to UGCosplay's Youtube Channel =D! We spent some time earlier this month decking it out, but I can't really think of anywhere on this site that I can put a link to it that makes sense, so... ^^;;. We have some skits coming up in the near future, so please subscribe if you'd like to see them once they're posted <3!

Hi guise! The Undergrounders just got back from the So-Cal Cosplay Spring Gathering, and we had a great time :D! Amaryllis, Miaka, and I wore our new Pokemon Gijinka costumes (Gloom, Growlithe, and Treecko) and got to hang out with all the other pokey-mans, yay! There were also many photoshoots, raffles, scavenger hunts, and cupcakes to be had, so it was an all-around good time (despite the ridiculous heat xD!!).
Here's a photo that encapsulates our ridiculousness:
The above photo was taken by DK Squall of Fantasy Dojo, thank you ♥!
That's pretty much it, since I haven't made any updates other than adding those new costumes to the cosplayer pages. Just wanted to say that the gathering RAWKED and we will definitely be crashing the Summer gathering as well (perhaps with new pokey-man costumes...? =3)!

Greetings! Just finished making some updates to the site ^__^!
> Added Henshin Ninjas skit to Masquerade Page
> Added Cindyrella, Estin, and Chichiriko to Cosplayers Page
> Added several new costumes in the Cosplayers Page
> Updated our Upcoming Appearances
> Added new Underground banners to the Linkage Page
The next updates will be the *official* costume image galleries. I've been playing with flash image galleries trying to find easy ways to do them without having to spend hours resizing thumbnails, etc... and I think I've finally figured it out! Now I just need to upload the piccies xD!
Our next appearance in the So-Cal Spring Picnic, so look for us (and our new costumes) then! =D

January 29th, 2008
Hey all =D! I think I'm finally all recovered from ALA, and getting ready to work on the website ^__^. We had many new costumes (and members!) debut at Anime LA this year, so there is a lot of updating to be done! We also performed a skit in the Masquerade; an on-stage Sailor Moon transformation, complete with technicolor stage ninjas! We had a lot of fun, and we hope the audience enjoyed it. I will be posting a full page for the skit, complete with description, photos, and video, but for now, if you want to see our skit please check it out on youtube: Henshin Ninjas!
I've also been working on coding up some image gallery pages for the site, so there will be actual photo galleries of each costume rather than just a costume list for each cosplayer... yay =D! It's a lot of uploading and copy pasta, but hopefully they should be up soon ^^. We're all itching to get working on our Masquerade costumes for Anime Expo (and some of us have started xD), but I should probably get the site up to speed before I get toooo too deep in that whole mess ^^;;.
Thanks for stopping by minna, I'll be back soon with actual updates... xD!

January 4th, 2008
Happy New Year, everyone! Anime LA starts today, so I thought I would drop a line on the site to remind everyone to keep an eye out for us there =D! We love meeting new peeps, so please grab us to say hi if you see us wandering about ^__^.
After the con there will be many new updates to the site, because we'll be debuting a bunch of new costumes, as well as new members! Here's a sneak peek of whats to come...
Amaryllis' New Costumes:
>Elphaba from Wicked
>Relena from Gundam Wing
Graike's New Costumes:
>Yule Ball Victor Krum from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (made by Amaryllis)
Miaka's New Costumes:
>Rosette from Chrono Crusade
>Miaka Yuki (Summer Uniform) from Fushigi Yugi
Pipsi's New Costumes:
>Sailor Moon... from Sailor Moon, of course!
We're also going to be introducing NEW members of the Underground and their costumes!!
Introducing Estin!
>Fiyero from Wicked (made by Amaryllis)
Introducing Chichiriko!
>Shhhh... it's a surprise =)!
We'll also be posting pictures and video (hopefully) from this weekend's Masquerade! We have some pretty ridiculous surprise costumes that we'll be wearing for our skit, so those will be included too =D.
Wow, I guess it looks like I'm gonna have a lot of updating to do! Oh, the joys of con season xD! But for now, we'll just look forward to seeing everyone at the con this weekend. Have an awesome time, minna!!
PS -- In my motion graphics class, I made a ghetto little video featuring the Underground Cosplayers for my final project. My hubby thought it was actually good (which I think is a semi-biased opinion, but okay =) and told me I should post it up on the site, hehe. I don't think it's good enough to slap right on the main page, but if you'd like to see, check it out on youtube xD!

Hi all! I just made a quick update to the "Upcoming" page due to a change in plans. The Underground will not be attending PMX due to time/money restraints (boooo ;___;!), but instead we will plan on performing in the Anime LA Masquerade in January! We've enjoyed the Anime LA masquerade very much as members of the audience, so now we're very excited to be able to participate on stage ^^. Please keep an eye out for us, we look forward to seeing you all there :D!

August 7, 2007
Greetings! Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated this site... but I seem to say that every time I update it, so it shouldn't come as a surprise =P.
As you may (or may not) have noticed, the UG site has had a bit of a remodel! This new layout actually serves a dual purpose to me... for one, the site simply needed a new layout, and it also happens to be my Final project for my Computer Graphics II class! Yay for killing two birds with one stone <3. I did a little experimentation with flash on this layout, so please bear with me if anything seems a bit wonky... I'm still learning! xD
As far as content goes, the Masquerade section is entirely up to date, including videos of all our performances! I also updated the cosplayers section to include our newest member, my beloved BABY sister, Miaka xD! Hopefully if I'm not lazy you'll see me around updating the individual costume pages as I get the chance. For now there are pretty thumbnails for you to look at, at least :3.
The Underground's next venture is Pacific Media Expo (November 9-11 in Los Angeles, CA)! Keep an eye out for us, we'll be hanging out as well as performing in the masquerade, so say hi if you see us around :D!
